RHAPIS excelsa  September 6, 1998 to June 30, 2001

Image taken September 6, 1998. The Rhapis excelsa was planted Feb. of 1997.

Image taken 6 months later on March 3, 1999. Rhapis are a under-used and under-rated palm. They thrive here is South Texas despite the summer heat, and seems to be a pest free plant. We grew them in Oregon, in a very protected spot and they did well in the cool PNW climate.

This photo was taken over 15 months later than the previous image, on June 2, 2000. Notice the new pups that have emerged, and the wide growth this plant has taken on. Many bottom leaves were removed this spring because palm was taking up the walk space.

This Image was taken February 1, 2001
4 years after being planted. Almost ready for
a spring pruning
