The palm has produced seed twice in the last two growing seasons. Trunk height 64 inches. Growth rate is over 1 inch per month. With good horticultural practices and well managed soil bionomics the pygmy date palm is a winner in our garden.   Image taken June 2, 2000. Trunk now measures 70 inches.
