This image was taken September 4, 1999, 32 months after being planted out. The palm has produced seed twice in the last two growing seasons. Trunk height 64 inches. Growth rate is over 1 inch per month. With good horticultural practices and well managed soil bionomics the pygmy date palm is a winner in our garden.

 
Image taken June 2, 2000. Trunk now measures 70 inches. It has been 41 months after being planted. This palm has produced fruit and seed the last 3 growing seasons.
