Phoenix roebelenii (Pygmy Date Palm), and Rhapis excelsa (Lady Palm), were both brought to Texas, from Oregon in 1996, and planted in January and February 1997. The P. roebelenii had a trunk that measured 27 inches at the time it was planted, trunk now measures out at over 65 inches. Syagrus romanzoffiana (Queen Palm) trunk in back ground, and off in the distance are Trachycarpus ssp. and Sabal palmetto trunks. Image taken February 8, 2000. |
