Trunk of a young Chorisia insignis
(Kapok, Drunken Tree, White Floss Silk Tree). This is not the
true kapok tree that was used to make life preservers, but still
has the very large spines and beautiful flowers. The kapok tree
was planted last spring 1999. Otatea acuminata aztecorum (Mexican
Weeping Bamboo) and a Washingtonia filifebusta (W.
filifera x W. robusta) in the back ground. Image taken March
