Curculigo capitulata "Palm Grass",unlike Setaria palmifolia
which is grown from seed or divisions and is a true grass, Curculigo
is related to the Amaryllis Family and are rhizomatous
or tuberous by nature, and are propagated by division.
Curculigo like Setaria is frost sensitive but can
resprout from roots in mild growing areas. They like lots of
water and grow best in rich well drained soil in part shade.
Leaves are pleated with ribs, light green in color and arching.
Leaves can grow to 3' on 2' long petioles and resembe young Queen
Palm fronds.
This plant was a gift to us, from Thad Magyar Mangos
Tropical Jungle.
